A Good Cause

From the Brochure:

On Friday, September 16th, Linda Sue Park will be doing a pro-bono school visit with eighth graders at Wright Middle School (Nashville) to discuss her latest book A LONG WALK TO WATER, the story of a Sudanese immigrant. Wright's middle school population is 90% under-resourced with a significant number of Kurdish and Sudanese. As a special project for our 20th anniversary conference, SCBWI Midsouth would like to provide one copy of A LONG WALK TO WATER to every student attending Linda Sue's presentation. Each hardback costs just $5, and our goal is 250 books. (Linda Sue will receive no royalties for these copies.) You can help these students have an experience they will never forget from a Newbery award-winning author. Please , give generously, and let's make sure every child has a book!

If you a) forgot to donate, b) would like to make another donation, or c) aren't attending the conference but would like to help out, you're in luck! You can send a check to the following address:

SCBWI Midsouth
P.O. Box 396
Cordova, TN 38088

Make your check out to SCBWI Midsouth.
